KEEP YOUR FUNDRAISING EFORTS TO THE GEOGRAPHIC LIMITS OF THE STUDENT POPULATION IN YOUR SCHOOL. Keep in mind that other schools will be involved in Reach Out, and it would be most productive if different schools didn’t compete with each other in fundraising.
HAVE ALL FUNDRAISING IDEAS APPROVED BY YOUR ADVISOR/PRINCIPAL BEFORE PUTTING THEM INTO PRACTICE. We don’t want schools to get involved in any sort of legal questions or anything of that sort.
Ideas for Fundraising:
After-school bake sales
Selling refreshments during such activities as the school musical or sporting event
Hold small fundraising events such as musical performances or talents shows.
Asking local businesses or organizations for contributions to the Reach Out group in your school. If you do this, here are so more tips:
ASK YOUR SCHOOL’S ADVISOR/PRINCIPAL BEFORE YOU START COLLECTING DONATIONS FROM SOURCES OUTSIDE OF YOUR SCHOOL!
Be kind and considerate. Don’t nag them for donations. Be grateful for any contribution they are able to give, if they are able to give anything. Small donations can often go a long way in helping children in other counties.
Be SPECIFIC about the plans of your school’s group so that people know exactly what causes your school is planning to support.
Refer them to this web page so they can learn what this group is about.
We really hope that every school that participates in Reach Out finds success in their fundraising efforts. If your school has any other fundraising ideas that you feel could be successful, please e-mail us here. Your ideas can only help Reach Out become more successful and help more children world-wide.
